by Ian Mackenzie on Feb.06, 2010, under Concerts, Fundraisers, Info, Locations, Other, Toronto

The drummer for The Salads was also one of the organizers, so like he said in our interview (Organizers interview), he just assumed they’d play. The Salads recently worked with Choclair and they felt it would be great to feature him. They also decided to tailor a song for the specifically for the fundraiser, so I just had to record that song and keep it in its entirety for you to listen to.
U. S. S. brings it to Toronto Plays For Haiti
by Ian Mackenzie on Feb.06, 2010, under Concerts, Fundraisers, Info, Locations, Other, Toronto

Tremendous appeal with young people is why U. S. S., also known as Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker, would be invited to an event like this. One member stands virtually still and plays the acoustic guitar and does the vocals, while the other member uses turntables, laptops, synthesizers, and figuratively the kitchen sink while racing around the whole stage and climbing on everything, plus he contributes some vocals. These two did not disappoint with their performance.

We weren’t able to get an interview with Care Failure, but we did stick our noses into another interview so that you can see her up close.

illScarlett at Toronto Plays For Haiti
by Ian Mackenzie on Feb.06, 2010, under Concerts, Fundraisers, Info, Interviews, Locations, Other, Toronto
Alex, the lead singer for the Ska band illScarlett, is interviewed by the Local Vibe, prior to his band performing for this Unicef charity event in early February 2010. If you’ve enjoyed Reggae music, but like to kick it up a notch, then this music, which actually preceded Reggae, is infectious.
A live performance by illScarlett is high energy, full of passion and that great beat keeps your body moving. When the organizers of Toronto Plays For Haiti began their search for talent to draw music fans, the first call they made was to illScarlett and the snowball started to form.

Did you hear John-Angus and Jack Syperek say that they were beginning work on a new electric album…? Yes! To get an idea of the potential for this band, they should be classed [...]
