illScarlett at Toronto Plays For Haiti
by Ian Mackenzie on Feb.06, 2010, under Concerts, Fundraisers, Info, Interviews, Locations, Other, Toronto
Alex, the lead singer for the Ska band illScarlett, is interviewed by the Local Vibe, prior to his band performing for this Unicef charity event in early February 2010. If you’ve enjoyed Reggae music, but like to kick it up a notch, then this music, which actually preceded Reggae, is infectious.
A live performance by illScarlett is high energy, full of passion and that great beat keeps your body moving. When the organizers of Toronto Plays For Haiti began their search for talent to draw music fans, the first call they made was to illScarlett and the snowball started to form.

I had the huge honour of interviewing members of Finger Eleven for the Local Vibe e-zine (http://localvibe.ca). They had such exuberant candor when it came to talking about their [...]

Life in Vacuum
by Brenda Naku Diaz on Apr.25, 2009, under Concerts, Interviews, Local Talent, Other, The Hive
This band kicks ass with no apology their fans know every song and scream it back to them word for word. I had trouble shooting because their sound was so intense. I had to put the cam down and just enjoy the show at The Hive 200 King St. E. Kitchener.
Afterwards in an exclusive interview, [...]
Take the time for Eye Rhyme
by Brenda Naku Diaz on Apr.24, 2009, under Concerts, Interviews, Local Talent, Other, The Hive
This exclusive look into the perspective of the Eye lures you in with their great tones. Structured and confident, and comparable to the mechanics of Rush, this band sets out to draw you in with a visually enhanced performance superimposed from behind. This band has a lot to say…from the greed of our leaders to [...]
