This weekend will be the 27th year that Guelph will host the Hillside Festival. Over the years this festival has grown into a massive event with several stages and a musical lineup that other festivals are envious of.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with the history of the Hillside Festival, a little bit of background information from their website might provide some insight into the steady growth that has made it what it is today.

The 11th annual Bluesfest International London is rolling into downtown London, with yet another fantastic lineup of live music performances that are going to knock your socks off!!

The schedule for this years festival

From July 19th to August 22nd, Stratford’s streets, riverbanks, gardens, restaurants, churches and concert halls are filled with over 100 concerts, recitals, street theatre and cabarets. This summer marks the return of some of the audiences’ favourite performers over the past 10 years. Enjoy world renowned musical artists performing in the intimate surroundings of our heritage churches and halls; free afternoon concerts on open barges along the river to after-theatre cabarets and evening jazz concerts in cool restaurants.

NxNE or North by Northeast is taking over the City of Toronto from June 14th until June 20th as the 16th annual version is hosting 650 bands and 40 films playing at 50 venues over 7 days. This is many things, including a logistical nightmare, but most impressively it is a fantastic example of how the artist community can come together to make anything happen.

Tremendous appeal with young people is why U. S. S., also known as Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker, would be invited to an event like this. One member stands virtually still and plays the acoustic guitar and does the vocals, while the other member uses turntables, laptops, synthesizers, and figuratively the kitchen sink while racing around the whole stage and climbing on everything, plus he contributes some vocals. These two did not disappoint with their performance.
