Covering the “Pickle” At Mulligans
by Peter Ezekiel on Oct.04, 2009, under Cambridge, Concerts, Local Talent, Mulligan`s, Other
A subdued clientele are either patiently waiting or have no idea what they’re in for. Outside the moon is full and it’s soon time to howl. Beer is flowing and food consumed. The band is Bad Pickle and they prepare for sound check.
Amidst the sounds of tuning the lights are dimmed and Dan Spence – guitar, Patrick Fox – drums and Uncle Jack Smith – bass, greets the crowd with their rendition of “Black Magic Woman”. Feet begin to stomp and heads bob. At the end of the song Rob Puschelberg – vox, takes his place up front and commands our attention with his voice.

This weekend the long awaited return of the 2nd Annual Preston Music Festival. Featuring local talent, this FREE all day long event has something for everyone. Central Park in Preston is where all the excitement is happening so make sure it is on your agenda to attend.
The lineup looks great with lots of local talent sharing their music with the hometown crowds. The whole show kicks off with winners from a children’s karaoke contest, hosted by Gemstone Entertainment. They have held a contest over several weeks to determine who gets the honour of appearing on stage at the beginning of this festival. The competition was friendly but fierce, and you will be amazed when the winners take to the stage to show you what they have.
Tickled to Watch Bad Pickle
by Peter Ezekiel on Jul.09, 2009, under Cambridge, Concerts, Info, Local Talent, Other, Sidelines
This Saturday July 11th, Bad Pickle will be playing at Sidelines in Preston. I have been trying to get out and see these guys play. The closest I’ve got is Karaoking with Rob at Sidelines and the man can sing. I also know that Dan Spence can play the shit out of a guitar. Their [...]
Passing Through Preston
by Peter Ezekiel on May.20, 2009, under Argyle Arms, Concerts, Local Talent, Other, Sidelines
This past Friday was a rather interesting one in Preston. I started at the Argyle Arms to enjoy the acoustic performance of Strung Out. The duo of Mark O’Conner and Mike Schweyer was as entertaining as it was tuneful. Both performers played great together and switched off vocals through a set list which ranged from [...]

If you have been bemoaning the recent closing of the Velvet, don’t despair. The Local Vibe is now booking shows for The Warehouse, a virtually unknown venue right in Downtown Cambridge. The Wabana gets Pickled!
by Scot on Jan.28, 2009, under Concerts, Venues
Wink’s Billiards is turning over a new leaf. The bar reverted to its old name, Wabana, in the New Year, but that’s not the only change you’ll see. This Friday Bad Pickle will play there, a big change from the country bands that usually play this venue. With a repertoire of cover tunes that goes [...]
