Well we have had a great start here at Local Vibe and over the course of the last year we have seen quite a few changes and met many friends along the way. What the future holds for us is unknown at this point, but you can be sure that it is only going to get bigger and better as we move forward. There has been very much going on in the background here and to celebrate our first anniversary we are going to be launching some big changes in the days to come.

Before we take you to where we are going, lets take a look back at where we have been and mention some of the highlights.

Only six days after we officially announced our presence we had our first of many submission pieces which we were proud and pleased to publish. The author was Steph D. and the story was “The Magic of the Boathouse“. This piece and others like her story on “Matt Storch” are fantastic examples of the type of submissions we were originally seeking. The original design of Local Vibe was intended to include many more submissions of this type, blending entertainment reporting and social media.

Throughout the year we made sure we were out at some of the biggest and best events to make sure you were kept up to speed. Some of these like the GO Festival, or 91.5 The Beat’s presentation of Beat Rocks The Block and the Cutting Edge Music Festival made for a big year for entertainment here with local talent hitting the stages everywhere you turned.

We put together two shows this year, one at the Warehouse in February, followed by the Opening Night of the Cambridge Fall Fair. Both of these were fantastic shows and we dealt with top-shelf professional artists who deserve the exposure of playing in front of diverse crowds. We are planning more events in the future, but you will have to stay tuned to find out about those. The best way to do that is to sign up on the right hand side of our homepage for email updates, and join our Facebook Fan Page.

I obviously can’t go over everything in the last year as there are about 250 stories on the site now. I guess to sum up the last year I would say that we traveled around and visited many venues with several fantastic artists usually converging at some of the more popular ones. We have interviewed people ranging from the smallest independent artist, some up and coming hit makers, to some fantastic legends in the business and everyone in between. We have snapped thousands of photos to try and offer a glimpse of what is going on. We have had a blast doing it, and don’t plan on stopping any time soon.

Stay tuned to see what we have in store for you next!!
