This weekend the long awaited return of the 2nd Annual Preston Music Festival. Featuring local talent, this FREE all day long event has something for everyone. Central Park in Preston is where all the excitement is happening so make sure it is on your agenda to attend.

2nd Annual Preston Music Festival

2nd Annual Preston Music Festival

The lineup looks great with lots of local talent sharing their music with the hometown crowds. The whole show kicks off with winners from a children’s karaoke contest, hosted by Gemstone Entertainment. They have held a contest over several weeks to determine who gets the honour of appearing on stage at the beginning of this festival. The competition was friendly but fierce, and you will be amazed when the winners take to the stage to show you what they have.

Next up is the live entertainment. The opening band performing on the stage at 1:00 PM is Malachi & The Music, who also opened our show last week at the opening festivities of the 170th Annual Cambridge Fall Fair. His performance is always top notch and you will be pleasantly surprised if you have never had the opportunity to catch him prior to this. There is a whole bunch of local performances planned, and the lineup is as follows.

12:00 – 12:45 Kids Karaoke (Hosted by Gemstone Entertainment)
1:00 – 1:45 Malachi & The Music
2:00 – 2:45 The James Knowles Band
3:00 – 3:45 Ties That Bind
4:00 – 4:45 Firetrain
5:00 – 5:45 Bad Pickle
6:00 – 6:45 The Gabe Lee Three
7:00 – 7:45 Lucas Stagg
8:00 – 8:45 Tracenine
9:00 – 9:45 West Memphis Suicide
10:00 – 11:00 Matt Storch & The Usual Suspects

This lineup is going to ROCK, so get down and enjoy the day in the park. If you are looking to keep the party going into the night, there is lots of choices as the Preston Pub Crawl kicks in as soon as the park stops. Make you way by The Groove Kitchen, Argyle Arms, Grasshopper, Fiddle & Firkin, O’Gerry’s or Sidelines to join in the live performances and dancing opportunities. Once again making sure there is something for everyone, over 19 that is.

The weather is calling for a sunny day and 17 degrees with 0% chance of rain. This makes for a fantastic fall day to step out in the park and enjoy some homegrown entertainment. When you are packing up your bags to head down and check this event out, don’t forget to throw something non-perishable in that can be donated to the Food Bank. There will be big bins in the park for collections that are going to the Cambridge Self Help Food Bank. This is an important part of this event, so BRING LOTS OF FOOD and let make this a huge success.

    Hi guys,

On behalf of West Memphis Suicide i’d like to thank everyone for coming out and supporting all the great local indie bands at the {Preston Music Festival!
Also,i’d like to thank Pete and the Local Vibe crew for going to bat for the same Indie bands at the fall fair,…although the turnout there was well,….less than impressive,we appreciate the chance to play.
we have played six or seven local shows in 5 months, sold out all of them(but one) so i’d say thats pretty good!
We don’t want to wear our welcome though,so West Memphis Suicide will not be playing locally for a little while, other than a show in London with Bobnoxious this Saturday, and one in Woodstock (Oct 23rd)with our friends in Brother My Enemy–we have nothing booked, leaving time to finish up some details on a few new songs-and start recording another cd.
    Thanks again for everything!
    Barry and WMS
