The Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex is hosting the NHL Rookie Tournament from Sunday September 6th to Thursday September 10th. There will be 7 games played and tickets are a very reasonable $10 each. You can’t even park for $10 to go to a game in Toronto or Ottawa which makes this deal unmissable.

The schedule is as follows:

Sunday September 6, 7:00 PM – Pittsburg vs. Toronto
Monday September 7, 2:00 PM – Toronto vs. Boston
Monday September 7, 7:00 PM – Ottawa vs. Pittsburg
Wednesday September 9, 2:00 PM – Ottawa vs. Boston
Wednesday September 9, 7:00 PM – Toronto vs. Pittsburg
Thursday September 10, 2:00 PM – Boston vs. Pittsburg
Thursday September 10, 7:00 PM – Ottawa vs. Toronto

For hockey fans, this is a great opportunity to see some of the hottest up and comers in the league right now. There is even a slim chance that some of the players that are attending these games will move right up to their respective team line-ups right away. Last year there were two players for Toronto that did just that. They played their hearts out and left everything on the ice, and were rewarded by being invited to join the boys in the big game. This could happen again as Toronto and other teams attending are in a serious rebuilding stage. We will have to wait and see what happens, but more importantly you could be there to see it for yourself.

We are only a couple of weeks away from the NHL season returning in full swing and what better way to warm up for the season than to watch some young talented guys battling it out for bragging rights and possibly advancements from these prospect camps. It is also a great way to get into the swing of things for our own hometown favourites, The Kitchener Rangers, who kicked their year off to a great start by beating Brampton 7-1 in their season opener will be back at home on Friday September 11th against the Oshawa Generals. Five of the Rangers will be attending camps for various teams, two of them right here in Kitchener.

Make sure you plan to make it out to support these young players and to properly prepare yourself for the upcoming hockey season.
