Every year the local restaurants chase after the coveted titles offered by ECHO Weekly as they gather responses and identify the best of the best when it comes to places around the region to find various types of food and drinks. This year The Groove Kitchen has settled for nothing but GOLD, in not just one or two categories, but SIX.

This accomplishment could not have come about without the tireless effort put in by Matt Storch and his incredible crew. He has taken a fantastic vision and managed to turn it into one of the areas best kept secrets, but not for long. This little establishment at 656 King Street East in Cambridge is going to be bustling with activity after gaining these accolades.

The Gold awards he received were in the following categories:

Best Restaurant
Best Chef
Best Overall Service
Best Deco/Ambiance
Best Club Sandwich
Best Grilled Sandwich

No other restaurant was able to match the outcome that The Groove Kitchen was able to command in this years parade of excellence, however there are many other places that also won impressive awards in many different categories. I can’t possibly mention them all here without infringing on their copyright standards, so I would encourage you to head out and pick up a copy of ECHO Weekly at one of the many locations they can be found at.

There is one thing that goes unsaid about The Groove Kitchen with all these awards, and that is the entertainment! For a small venue they really pack in some fantastic acts and diversity is high on their list. From their “Bring Your Own Vinyl Night” where you can bring in records of your choice from your own collection to share with the crowd, to booking some of the hottest local artists for some acoustical or full blown band performances, they are sure to offer something for everyone. You can also catch Matt himself almost every Friday night as he takes to the stage with his band “Matt Storch & The Usual Suspects”.

Congratulations Matt & Staff, it is a well deserved accomplishment that couldn’t have gone to a more deserving venue.
