This weekend there will be lots to do at Laurel Creek Conservation Area with the 12th Annual Kiwanis Dragon Boat Festival of Waterloo Region bringing in thousands of additional people to mingle with the regular campers. Last year they were joined by approximately 4,000 people and the goal for this year is 5,000. This should be easy enough to do with an expected 70 teams participating, and featuring a major Arts & Crafts Fair, all kinds of entertainment, fun for the kids, food and drink services, souvenirs, public beach and park access, overnight camping, and a whole lot more for the whole family to enjoy.
Last year’s charity event was extremely successful, as they raised over $20,000 to support the Grand River Hospital Child Services Programs and a number of other worthwhile projects in the Waterloo Region. This year promises to be even better.
Make sure you plan to take the kids with you and drop by for a fun filled day that also qualifies as you doing your part to support some wonderful causes. Check out the website for the 12th Annual Kiwanis Dragon Boat Festival of Waterloo Region for complete event information.
