Local Vibe presents The Mad Hatters Tea Party

by on Feb.26, 2009, under Concerts, Info, Local Talent, Other, The Warehouse

If you have been bemoaning the recent closing of the Velvet, don’t despair. The Local Vibe is now booking shows for The Warehouse, a virtually unknown venue right in Downtown Cambridge.

Licensed for 270, this bar is larger than the Velvet, and there is a bigger room currently being renovated. We are producing a series of themed shows to highlight local talent. These events are not meant to compete with the local bars, but to complement them. We are going to showcase and broadcast the local talent you can find in the local clubs. We have space on the big screen at the Delta to promote shows, and the first printed issue is almost ready. We want to provide a complete promotion package for both musicians and venues.

Our first show will take place Friday night. It will feature 16 year old musician Alex Mackenzie, The Colour Tasters and Bad Pickle, and will be the official launch for The Vibe. We will debut a video project I have been working on for the Riverside reunion, and announcing a singer/songwriter competition for local youth. I will be on Daytime on Roger’s Cable 20 to talk about it. Friday will also be webcast on our site, and archived there, another first for the Vibe.

There are limited tickets available for Friday’s show. There are some left, you can get tickets at Crazy Bills on Ainslie St., from Rob from Bad Pickle who is at Sidelines tonight, or reserve one by contacting me at scot@localvibe.ca. We are reserving some tickets to be sold at the door as well. Although it is licensed for 270 we are capping sales at 150. We don’t want it to be crowded as it is not about making a killing, but rather about showcasing local talent. If you are a musician or promoter you want to check this show out; we are looking for acts for our next three shows.

There is one of the songs from the video posted below.
